How We Work
Education-first financial planning
Good advice begins with education. My process follows the spirit of the CFP Board's financial planning practice standards—adapted for real families who want clarity, not jargon.
Engagements may include all seven steps or a defined scope—always agreed in writing, with fees explained up front.
- 1
Understanding Your Circumstances
We begin by listening. I gather quantitative and qualitative information about your life, values, goals, and financial picture—so advice is grounded in who you are, not a product menu.
- 2
Identifying & Selecting Goals
Together we clarify what success looks like for you and your family—near-term needs and multi-generational aspirations alike.
- 3
Analyzing Your Current Path
I evaluate your present course of action and practical alternatives, including tradeoffs around risk, tax, liquidity, and legacy.
- 4
Developing Recommendations
You receive clear, prioritized recommendations designed around your objectives—with education so you understand the why, not just the what.
- 5
Presenting the Plan
We walk through the plan in plain language. Questions are welcome. Decisions are yours—made with confidence, not pressure.
- 6
Implementing Together
When you're ready, I help coordinate implementation with you and, as appropriate, your attorney, CPA, and other professionals.
- 7
Monitoring & Updating
Life changes. Markets change. Your plan should too. Ongoing reviews keep your strategy aligned as circumstances evolve.
